SUMMARY:30th Anniversary Ergonomics Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Ergonomics injuries comprise 30.5% of all worker injury and illness cases in the U.S.\nWould you like to build a world-class ergonomics program? A sound program can reduce injuries\, boost productivity and enhance quality in your organization. We have helped a number of companies develop\, implement and grow their ergonomic programs to a world-class level. \nWe begin by meeting with key company stakeholders to gain a more thorough understanding of existing ergonomics\, health and safety\, engineering\, training\, corrective actions systems\, processes\, and protocols. This knowledge is used to maximize the integration of ergonomics into existing systems\, processes\, and tracking metrics and to identify any improvement opportunities. We can provide a gap analysis\, which will assist us in creating a plan with the client that details the next steps in developing a world-class ergonomics program. \nDiscover how we can assist you in achieving a more optimal workplace.\n  \nMORE INFORMATION

SUMMARY:Ergonomics for Engineers
DESCRIPTION:About Ergonomics Training for Engineers\nThis comprehensive course covers the key elements of the appropriate design of products and workspaces for the human user. Engineers armed with a deep understanding of ergonomics are better equipped to create products that not only function more efficiently but also enhance the user experience. At the conclusion of this course\, participants will have a more holistic grasp on all the considerations required to produce quality designs while also learning how to increase efficiency\, reduce injuries\, and improve overall performance. We will emphasize the principles of human-centered design\, placing the user at the core of the engineering process. A significant portion of the course will be dedicated to anthropometric design\, where we examine the dimensions and physical capabilities of the human body. From office spaces to manufacturing plants\, we will discuss how the physical environment impacts human performance and well-being\, and how engineers can shape these spaces for optimal results.\n  \nREGISTER TO ATTEND\n \nThis course mixes interactive lecture and hands-on exercises to allow all participants to learn and apply techniques.\n  \nObjectives\nAfter attending this course\, participants will be able to: \n\n\nUnderstand the principles of human-centered design and its applications in engineering.\nPossess the skills to apply anthropometric data in designing products that cater to a diverse user base.\nRecognize the significance of environmental factors in shaping ergonomic solutions.\nAnalyze and critique existing designs from an ergonomic perspective.\n\n\n  \nDetails\n\n\nWorkshop is offered in-person\, at your company site\, or virtually.\nTraining Fee: $1950/$1650 for members (if you have 5 or more registrants contact us for pricing information)\nRoyalty fee for customized design checklists and resource guides for each individual are included in the cost\n2.0 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) available at registration through NC State University\nLunch is provided for Center hosted In-Person offerings
