Brian has been an adult educator\, trainer and instructional designer for over ten years. Brian has taught a variety of certification and professional development courses at the collegiate level and in collaboration with the United States government. Brian is certified in CISSP\, Comp TIA Security+\, Comp TIA A+\, Comp TIA Network+\, Comp TIA Cloud Essentials and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) -Registered Practitioner. He is a Microsoft Certified Professional\, AWS Solutions Architect and an AWS Cloud Practitioner. Brian is also currently pursuing a M.S. in education from NC State University.\n  \nRichard Hayes\nSenior Engineer in Cybersecurity\, Infranet Technologies Group\nWith over eight years of dedicated experience in IT security and technology solutions\, Richard serves as a Senior Engineer in Cybersecurity at Infranet Technologies Group\, based in Wilmington\, North Carolina. In this role\, Richard excels in identifying and implementing tailored IT security solutions and technology enhancements that boost business efficiency across diverse sectors. \nSince joining Infranet Technologies in January 2016\, Richard has been instrumental in crafting and deploying comprehensive security strategies that address a broad spectrum of client needs. Prior to this\, Richard worked as a Tier 3 Support Engineer\, where he provided expert support in various applications\, operating systems\, virtualization\, and networking technologies. This role involved managing and executing infrastructure projects spanning network\, server\, virtualization\, and Active Directory environments\, supporting clients in healthcare\, construction\, manufacturing\, SLED\, and retail industries.Richard holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology with a concentration in Information and Computer Technology from East Carolina University\, where he graduated with a 4.0 GPA. \nCertified across multiple disciplines\, Richard possesses a robust portfolio of credentials\, including CompTIA CySA+\, Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security)\, and VMware Certified Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization. These certifications underpin his expertise in network security\, system administration\, and virtualization\, equipping him to handle complex security and technology challenges.\n  \nMyriam Batista\nChief Information and Compliance Officer\, Reef Systems\nMyriam is the Chief Information and Compliance officer at Reef Systems\, which is headquartered in Cary\, North Carolina. She works with companies to understand their security posture and help them comply with Federal Government requirements and commercial frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171\, NIST SP 800-53\, ISO 27001\, and CMMC. Myriam has over 20 years of experience leading the implementation of cybersecurity and technology solutions in support of commercial customers\, educational institutions\, and government agencies\, as well as expertise in conducting independent assessments and audits.
