Randolph manufacturers face material shortages, price hikes due to global supply chain issues

Manufacturers around the country have been facing raw material shortages and price hikes throughout the pandemic. Randolph County’s manufacturers are no exception. According to Phil Mintz with the North Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership, it all traces back to problems in the global supply chain brought on by COVID-19.

North Carolina Entrepreneur Finds Success in Health and Wellness

In February 2018, the North Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NCMEP) reported a video success story about Jordan Schindler, an up-and-coming entrepreneur who founded TexDel, a textile-based drug delivery company in 2011.

On the September 1, 2021 episode of Business North Carolina’s Weekly Round-Up podcast, Business North Carolina caught up with Schindler and Nufabrx (formerly TexDel).  Since the NCMEP video success story, the organization has branched out exponentially, and now the Conover-based company was ranked the 50th fastest-growing company in the U.S. by Inc. magazine.  Listen to the podcast

In 2019, the MEP National Network served 8,900 clients and interacted with 28,213 manufacturers. For every dollar of investment in 2019, the MEP generated $33.80 in new sales and $32.20 in new client investment, translating into $4.7 billion in new sales.
