The April 26 DEFTECH Coffee Call (hybrid) will take place from 8-10 a.m. in the Zeis Textiles Extension (ZTE) classroom at the Wilson College of Textiles on Centennial Campus.
 
Dr. Andre West will provide an update on the Flex Factory Prototype Lab. The Flex Factory provides services to entrepreneurs and established companies to bring textile products to market, reducing the product development timeline and increasing speed to market with state of the art textile processing and cut and sew equipment.
 
Melissa Sharp will provide an overview of the recently awarded NSF Engines grant. North Carolina State University will serve as a core partner on a regional research effort to advance U.S. capacity for textile innovation that ensures environmental sustainability by recycling waste materials into fibers for new textiles. The effort will receive up to $15 million for two years and up to $160 million over 10 years.
