What is Offshore Wind Ready

Offshore Wind Ready is a one-day educational program designed for businesses who want to learn more about specific business opportunities in the growing U.S. offshore wind industry. Learn about project development, a project’s supply chain component parts, and how to identify where your business fits in. Offshore Wind Ready helps determine if this growing industry fits your business well.
 

 

Who Should Attend

Any business or individual in North Carolina ready to learn about specific U.S. offshore wind industry business opportunities.
 

Learning Objectives:

Section 1

  • Match each US or global region with its timeline and status in the offshore wind market.

Section 2

  • List the phases of development in an offshore wind project. Duplicate from 101.
  • Identify the key components in an offshore wind project.
  • Describe the main function of each key component in an offshore wind project in the journey from wind to producing electricity.

Section 3

  • Explain the structure of the offshore wind supply chain.
  • Match a company providing a specific product or service to the correct supply chain tier 1-6.

Section 4

  • Identify activities that the supply chain can perform in the siting and permitting phase to support the developer as they build their SAP and COP.
  • Describe the steps to try to become qualified as an offshore wind service or product supplier.
  • Apply what you’ve learned about involved industries to envision your own experience in the offshore wind industry.
