SMARTER NC, Smart Manufacturing Adoption to Realize Transformative Energy Reductions for North Carolina - Webinar

Through a federal grant from the Department of Energy, we can provide financial assistance to small- to medium-sized manufacturers to offset some of the non-equipment costs associated with adopting and integrating relevant SMART technology.

Jason LowJason Low, Senior Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, NC State University Industry Extension Services

Jason Low is a senior manufacturing engineering specialist at NC State University Industry Extension Services (IES), where he assists clients with automation strategies and understanding how Industry 4.0 technologies can be adopted and leveraged as part of their lean trajectory, OEE improvement, and an increasingly positive bottom line. Jason comes to IES with 25 years of experience in teaching and automation, including 10 years at the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at NC State University (NCSU).
 


 
Dr. Phil Mintz, Executive Director, NC State University Industry Extension Services and Director, North Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NCMEP)

Phil Mintz is the current executive director of NC State University Industry Extension Services (IES) and director of the North Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NCMEP). His role at IES is to lead the College of Engineering’s extension services program, which leverages applied engineering solutions and industry best practices to help smaller, underserved NC businesses and technical professionals compete in the global marketplace through training and coaching. Phil has a B.S. degree in Engineering Operations from North Carolina State University and an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University. Mintz was recognized in 2022 with the Distinguished Alumnus Award by the NC State Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
