Core Technology Corporation Receives North Carolina Manufacturing Leadership Award for Developing Markets and Economic Development

Greensboro, NC – Core Technology Corporation has been honored with the North Carolina Manufacturing Leadership Award for Developing Markets and Economic Development, recognizing the company’s substantial and sustained impact on the local economy and broader community. This prestigious award highlights Core Technology’s role in expanding the local tax base, creating quality jobs, and aligning with community development goals.

Core Technology CorporationFounded in 2006 by Geoff Foster, Core Technology Molding Corporation is headquartered in Greensboro, NC. The company provides precision injection molding solutions for a diverse array of industries, including medical devices, automotive, aerospace, biopharmaceuticals, consumer goods, appliances, and outdoor equipment. Today, Core Technology proudly serves global clients in over 150 countries.

In July 2024, Core Technology announced a $28 million investment in land acquisition, facility construction, and advanced equipment in East Greensboro. The new facility—expected to be completed in Q4 2025—will add 26 new jobs and significantly expand production capacity. This milestone follows years of strategic growth and visionary leadership.

Core Technology’s success is not solely defined by economic milestones. The company is also deeply committed to workforce development and STEM education. Its longstanding partnership with NC State University’s Industry Expansion Solutions included a pre-COVID gap assessment and SWOT analysis, positioning the company for scalable growth. As a result, Core Technology achieved ISO 13485 certification for medical device manufacturing and installed a medical-grade clean room, enabling partnerships with industry leaders such as Merck, Pfizer and Eli Lilly. In the automotive sector, the company earned IATF 16949 certification, manufacturing components for brands including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, and Toyota.

“When I think back to the pandemic, I was nervous,” said Founder and CEO Geoff Foster. “Many competitors were closing their doors, but we grew by 300% during COVID. We had a strong foundation and made strategic investments that allowed us to respond quickly when opportunities arose, especially in the biopharma sector.”

Core Technology Interior

Core Technology reinvests $2 to $3 million annually in innovation and infrastructure. Their facility operates 24/7, and the upcoming expansion will triple manufacturing capacity. With increased demand in industries like diabetes and weight-loss pharmaceuticals, the company is positioned for continued exponential growth.

In addition to his corporate leadership, Foster has served as an adjunct professor at North Carolina A&T State University for over 20 years, seeking talent with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. “You can interview the top 4.0 students,” he explained, “but we value team players who can communicate and collaborate effectively.”

Core Technology Workers

This people-first philosophy extends to company culture. “We have one of the lowest turnover rates in Guilford County,” Foster shared. Core Technology offers competitive salaries, a 4% 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, company paid life insurance and a profit-sharing program available to all employees. Each year, the entire team is rewarded with an all-expenses-paid company retreat; this year’s destination is Montego Bay, Jamaica.

Core Technology Workers

Core Technology’s investment in talent starts early. Through its partnership with NC Apprenticeship, the company hires high school students training to become certified Toolmakers. Internships with students from NC A&T and NC State Universities often transition into full-time careers.

Core Technology Tour

In alignment with its mission to shape future leaders, Core Technology founded a nonprofit, Molding Kids for Success, aimed at middle school students ages 10–14 with an interest in STEM. The program blends classroom instruction with real-world applications on the manufacturing floor, introducing students to plastics, polymers, and advanced manufacturing. From its humble start reaching 20 students in 2000, the program has grown to impact over 800 students by 2024.

“By the end of the camp,” Foster reflected, “many students are transformed. They gain not just knowledge, but the confidence to articulate ideas scientifically. Here, they’re encouraged to be themselves—and to be proud of their curiosity.”

From global reach to local roots, Core Technology Corporation exemplifies how visionary leadership, strategic investment, and a passion for education can drive meaningful economic and social impact.
