North Carolina’s premiere manufacturing network has a new name and new, affordable membership rates and benefits. mfgNC Connections, which has replaced the Manufacturing Makes it Real Network, will serve as an informational and networking hub for North Carolina’s vibrant manufacturing base.

mfgNC Connections will also host a series of educational and networking events for members; manufacturers can become members for a low price that is based on the size of their organization.

On April 7, mfgNC Connections launched the series with a presentation by Fiberon, a leading manufacturer of eco-friendly composite decking, railing and fencing, at Stanly Community College. Mr. Mike Huskey, Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, gave a short presentation titled, Fiberon Manufacturing and the Lean Journey. His presentation was followed by tours of Fiberon’s facility so that attendees could see the company’s leading edge practices in action. The private tours showcased the main manufacturing floor, packaging and shipping operations, and recycling operations, where post-consumer and post-industrial plastics are made into the plastic pellets that Fiberon uses in its products.

If you’re not a member of mfgNC Connections, sign up today to access members-only tours, discounts on training opportunities and professional conferences and other valuable benefits.
